Our client, a fabricator of steel rebar and distributor of concrete related products for commercial and industrial construction, has been purchased by a private equity fund. Founded in 1995, the selling company markets its products to concrete construction companies, independent masons, government entities and manufacturers of concrete products.

The acquirer, a Dallas-based private equity group, makes investments in a broad range of growing companies. Their investments take several forms: growth capital, recapitalizations, industry consolidations and leveraged buyouts.

This 50 year old Southest Texas company is an authorized distributor and service company for one of the most well recognized names in the industry.

The acquired company, a manufacturer and distributor of steel and aluminum outdoor lighting poles for commercial, highway and industrial applications, has been acquired by a publicly owned company. Since 1969, the lighting pole company has been a leading provider of engineering expertise and pole products through a nationwide contract lighting representative base as well as OEM customers.

The acquiring company, through its wholly owned subsidiary, is an AISC Certified structural steel fabrication company and provides engineering, detailing and fabrication of steel components for commercial buildings, convention centers, sports arenas, airports, schools churches and bridges.

APG envisioned a significant strategic fit between the selling and the acquiring entities and introduced these companies. APG assisted both seller and buyer in this transaction designed to expand the acquirer's product line and leverage its manufacturing capabilities.

The acquirer of this 35 year old distributorship is itself a well known and longstanding brand name (Harley Davidson, et al) distributor in the greater Houston marketplace.
