The professionals at APG were selected for their direct experience in key roles operating small to mid-sized companies and their analytical skills and expertise in bringing consensus to a transaction. Each APG Partner has been directly involved in the merger and acquisition process for many years.
William M. Pruitt, President and Managing Partner. Bill oversees the overall activities of the firm and is directly involved in M & A engagements as well as providing support to APG Partners and Affiliates. Prior to the founding of APG, Bill was CEO of a Texas-based manufacturer of oilfield service equipment that he was instrumental in selling to a NYSE-Listed company. Before taking the CEO role, Bill managed an M & A firm that handled the sale of multiple small to mid-sized Texas-based companies. He has over 35 years experience in the M & A business having begun his career in the corporate finance department of a Dallas-based investment bank in 1969.
Rodney L. Ames, Partner. Rodney is directly involved in all aspects of M & A and business brokerage transactions, working from APG's Beaumont-Houston area office. Rodney has an extensive background in business management, marketing and sales and has led a multi-location manufacturing, distribution and sales organization as its CEO. A creative problem solver, Rodney's skills in assessing a challenging opportunity and taking it to a successful conclusion have been a valuable asset to APG and its clients. Rodney has proven to be a tireless and determined advocate of our clients' interests and has been directly responsible for the completion of numerous sale transactions. Having begun his business career over 25 years ago, Rodney is an active member of the State's business brokers association.
Dewey E. Floyd, Partner. Dewey is a Merger & Acquisition Master Intermediary and a Certified Business Intermediary. He entered the M & A field in 1998 after a thirty year career in corporate management serving as President, CEO, and COO, as well as a major shareholder, in privately held companies where he participated in the sale of those companies to large public entities and privately held corporations. Prior to entering full time M & A work, Dewey was president and shareholder of a very successful, middle market, branded products company which was successfully sold to a NYSE-Listed company. As a successful intermediary, Dewey has handled a variety of transactions throughout Texas including manufacturers with domestic and international distribution, service and distribution companies, contractors and multi-unit retailers & multi-unit restaurants. Dewey works from an office in the San Antonio - Austin corridor.
Rex K. Reavis, Partner. Rex brings a wealth of experience to the M & A team at APG. He has held many positions of responsibility during his 38 year business career including CEO, COO, and other senior executive level positions in manufacturing and service industries. Having worked and traveled in over 40 countries, Rex has broad experience in various aspects of oil field product development as well as general management. Rex was Executive V.P. during the sale of one company and the CEO and prime mover in all aspects regarding the sale of two other companies. One of these sale transactions was with a multi-national oil field service provider. In addition to Rex's extensive professional successes, he volunteers countless hours to his community and serves on the Board of Regents of a well respected private University. Rex works from APG's Houston office.
Edward Lee, Partner. Ed joined APG in 2006 and brings a successful 36 year background as a corporate sales and training manager, as an entrepreneur / business owner and an M & A intermediary. Ed spent 18 years as a sales representative, training manager and retail store development manager with the largest manufacturer of greeting cards in the United States. In this role, Ed worked closely with entrepreneurs who were starting or acquiring retail franchised stores and handled construction, contract and leasing issues on behalf of the corporation. Later, he also owned and operated his own chain of card and gift shops and became active in commercial real estate ownership. For the past 11 years, Ed has been involved in brokering and advising numerous businesses in the North Texas area. He is a generous contributor of his resources and time with several local charity and civic organizations.
L. E. Gene Arnold, Affiliate. Gene joined APG in 2005 and brings with him a 45 year career in business and financial management, including mergers & acquisitions. A Certified Public Accountant, Gene has served large and mid-sized companies as controller, vice-president finance and president. Gene served the business community in southeast Texas as Assistant Director and Director of the Small Business Development Center at Lamar University from 1991 until his retirement in 2005. While in industry and at the SBDC, Gene has been extensively involved in strategic planning, financial systems development, merger and acquisition analysis and business valuations. Gene works from the Beaumont-Houston area.
James D. Pringle, Affiliate. Jim joined APG in 2007 as an Affiliate Broker. He has more than 25 years of business ownership and business consulting experience and brings a unique perspective to the process of representing sellers and buyers of companies. Jim draws from his first-hand experience as both a buyer and seller of businesses when helping to negotiate purchase and sale agreements and has a keen insight into the nuances of the transaction process and what it takes to get to the closing table. Jim has a well deserved reputation for trust, dependability and for getting results for his clients. He is a board member of the Austin chapter of the state's broker's association and member of the international association. A native and current resident of Austin, Jim is well connected in the central Texas area.
Michael B. Cloud, Affiliate. Mike is a Certified Public Accountant with an extensive background in mergers and acquisitions. For 13 years as controller of a Dallas-based, publicly owned diversified holding company, Mike played a key role in acquisition analysis, negotiation, due diligence and deal completion. He has a solid background in all aspects of financial management, SEC reporting and auditing. Mike's key strengths in strategic planning, financial analysis and client relationship management provide a valuable resource to APG. Mike works from APG's Fort Worth-Dallas office.
Gayle Pruitt, Chief Financial Officer. Gayle, a Certified Public Accountant, handles all accounting and financial duties of APG. Gayle has a background in public accounting as well as having served in past positions as a financial analyst and as controller/CFO of manufacturing companies. Gayle also assists with financial analysis and data presentation on behalf of APG clients.
